I went to the wild animal park on May 12th, 2007. It is not actually in San Diego but in Escondido. I was very impressed with the facilities and animals there. Unlike some zoos the animals here looked very healthy and happy. The park is quite large and you do a good bit of walking around. It is large because the enclosures for the animals are large. Also the food is decent and not overpriced.

The journy into Africa tour they have is quite unlike anything I have seen before. They take you in a tram around a large open area where African animals (no predators) raom free. It is neat to see animals free to go around as they please and interact with other animals.
